Although a lot of people know how to drive a manual, they are not comfortable teaching a learner how to drive one.
Having a manual driving licence opens up a lot of doors for people, especially in relation to jobs. For example, most government provided emergency services require a Manual C Class driver’s licence as a prerequisite to employment. Whether it is the Police, Fire, or Ambulance services, if you are required to drive a vehicle, you will need a manual driving licence. Most tradies will encounter at least one manual vehicle in their work so that have no choice but to get a manual driving licence. Even a job in the Defence Forces will require a manual driving licence.
So how hard is it really, to drive a manual car?
It turns out that it is not difficult if you are taught correctly by a professional driver trainer, or someone skilled in driving a manual who can also put into words that knowledge that seems to come intuitively to them.
If you’re already an automatic driver, it may take only two or three lessons to master a manual. If you’re a brand new driver, it could be six to ten lessons to be comfortable driving a manual.
If you have some anxiety about learning to drive a manual because some people have told you it’s too hard, take just one two-hour lesson with a professional driver trainer at Complete Control Driver Training and see if it’s for you. You will then positively determine whether they can help you achieve this worthwhile goal.
Whatever your situation, rest assured that driving a manual car confidently and safely is well within your reach and, as it turns out, manual cars are more fun to drive than automatics!
