Know the form before test day
Driving Assessment Report (DAR)
The Driving Assessment Report is the Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) form F5080 that your driving examiner fills in during your practical driving test. Every tick and note about your drive lands on this one sheet.
After the test you get a copy, and the examiner walks you through it so you know exactly what went well and what did not. Knowing the form before test day removes surprises: when you understand what is being marked, you can practise exactly those things.

What the examiner assesses
ASpecific Driving Situations
Lane driving, intersections (turning, giving way, traffic lights and signs), higher speed and lower speed environments, different traffic densities, and crossings such as pedestrian and railway crossings.
BManoeuvres
The set-piece skills: a reverse park, turning the car around, a U turn, and a hill start. Your examiner picks from these on the day, so practise them all.
CPre-Drive Check
Before you move off, you show that you can locate and operate the controls of the car: lights, wipers, demister, horn, handbrake and more.
DVehicle Operation
How smoothly and correctly you handle the car itself: steering, gears, accelerator and brake use, and keeping the vehicle under complete control at all times.
EHazard Recognition / Decision
Whether you see hazards early, make sound decisions about them, and respond safely, the judgement side of driving that separates a pass from a fail.
How errors are counted
Non-Critical Driving Errors (NCDE)
Minor errors. A few are allowed, but they add up, and too many across the test means you do not pass.
Specific Repeated Driving Errors (SRDE)
The same minor error made again and again, for example repeatedly forgetting head checks. Repetition turns a small slip into a pattern the examiner cannot ignore.
Critical Driving Errors (CDE)
Serious errors such as a dangerous action, a collision risk, or examiner intervention. One critical error is an immediate fail.
Practise every section before test day
Our instructors coach you through the whole DAR, so nothing on the form is a surprise.
